Asphalt shingles

Asphalt Shingles

Fiberglass shingles have a base layer of glass fiber reinforcing mat. The mat is made from wet, random-laid fiberglass bonded with urea-formaldehyde resin. The mat is then coated with asphalt which contains mineral fillers and makes the fiberglass shingle waterproof. Fiberglass shingles typically obtain a class "A" fire rating as the fiberglass mat resists fire better than organic / paper mats. If you have any questions about our asphalt shingles, give us a call to talk to a roofer in Grapevine, TX.

Impact resistant shingles

Impact Resistant Shingles

An impact resistant shingle can withstand impacts from flying objects to a much greater extent than a common asphalt shingle. The impact resistant rating system ranks a shingle's resistance to impact into 4 levels: Class 1 through Class 4, with Class 4 as the highest rating level to impact resistance.

Composite shingles

Composite Shingles (Plastics)

Plastic roofing shingles, tiles, slates, or "wood" shingles are manufactured using polymer-based or composite materials that may offer improved impact resistance (such as resistance to hail damage). Polymer-based or plastic roofing products are generally about the same weight as laminated asphalt roof shingles, therefore lighter than cement-based shingles, clay roof tiles, or slate roofs.

Metal roofing

Metal Roofing

Decra Shake is manufactured using the finest lightweight pressure-formed aluminum-zinc alloy steel, covered with 3M ceramic-coated stone granules and sealed with an exclusive polymer coating. Guaranteed that hail will not penetrate  the shingle. Comes with a 50-year ltd. Transferable Warranty and a 20-year SureStart Protection (Non-Prorated or Manufacturer covers full cost of defective  shingles or leaks due to a defect in the shingle for the first 20 years).

Wood shakes

Wood Shakes

Wood Shakes are Hand Split and typically made from Western Red Cedar and Yellow Cedar. Wood Shakes are Hand Split to reveal the uneven natural grain of the wood. Applied over spaced sheathing and felt, it allows the shakes to breathe naturally and therefore does not require ventilation. The most common lengths are 18” and 24". Hand Split Wood Shakes also come in different thicknesses known as Medium or Heavy. Hand Split Wood Shakes can also be Fire Treated, but typically the Fire Resistant capabilities usually wear off after 5 years due to weathering and sun exposure. Wood shingles

Wood Shingles

Wood Shingles are Machine Sawn and typically made from Western Red Cedar and Yellow Cedar. Wood Shingles are thinner than Shakes and are tapered and sawn on both faces of the shingle for a more uniform appearance. Applied over spaced sheathing to breathe naturally and therefore does not require additional ventilation. The most common lengths are 16” (known as “Five X”), 18” (known as Perfections) and 24” (known as “Royals”). Wood Shingles also come in different grades known as No.1 Grade Blue Label, No.2 Grade Red Label, No.3 Grade Black Label, and No.4 Grade Green Label. No.1 Blue Label being the best of the grades. The grade determines the quality and chances of warping over time. Wood Shingles can also be Fire Treated but typically the Fire Resistant capabilities usually wear off after 5 years due to weathering and sun exposure.

Came out at the agreed time and completed the work on time while cleaning up after he was finished. A very dependable contractor who stands behind his work. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a new roof or to repair a roof at a reasonable price.
